{February 14, 2008}   Photo editing Challenge

ripped_paper-copy.jpg

Problem #1

For the newspaper i first repaired the face in doing so i copied the half of the face and fliped it so it could fit in perfectly. I sumged into the rest of the picture so it blended in. Also i burned the copied area so its colour could match the rest of the photo. For the rest of the newspaper i copied the ends to match the corner that was missing and just blured it into the rest of the newspaper so it did’nt look “Photoshopped”

mr_oneeye1-copy.jpg

Problem #2

In the case of the cat i just simply used the rectangle tool to copy the eye and i erased the un-needed area. I  fliped and rotated the eye untill it was complete and the eye fit perfectly i lighty blured in the eye so it did’nt looked like i cut and pasted it.

{February 6, 2008}   Born in the Brothels

1.I enjoyed the film very much. It was really sweet of the Zana to focus on those children and make what they enjoy into an art. She gave the kids hope and something else to believe in. This really touched me. What stood out for me was how the children took such amazing pictures and also Zana’s non-stop support for the children.

2 I actually learned a lot so much in the movie. I learned about even children in third world countries have great talent. Also you don’t need expensive equipment to take magnificent pictures and that there is no impossible. In addition amazing people like Zana the photographer helped those children get a higher education to help them get to their full potential.

3. I think the world needs to open new programs for under privileged children like children in third world countries. I also think that people should pay more attention to the problems in the world and not take everything for granted. What I am trying to say is if everyone was just a little less selfish the world would be a much better place. By people recognizing the problems around them there would be happier people and less conflict.

4. What I am willing to do today to help the world is to join a fundraiser and charity. By this I can spread the words of the problems in the world and at the same time help those in need.  In this way I am helping those in need and explained to people the truth about what really is happening in the world and why they should be concerned.

 5. The song I believe has good lyrics about changing the world is “Where s the Love” by The Black Eyed Peas http://www.blackeyedpeasringtones.net/where-is-the-love-lyrics/

6. A non-profit organization which is very important to me is the Sick Kids Foundation; this amazing foundation brings hope to kids who are not able to do the things we are able to do. Every child is important and the Sick Kids Foundation. They try their hardest to make sure ever kid is made feel special. They try to save every one of their souls. http://sickkidsfoundation.com/

 7. An idea I have for media arts is that we could as a class start our own fundraiser and raise money for a charity we all agree on that deserves it. We could post signs to show our school why this fundraiser is important.

a) What qualities of your magazine cover make it effective? (eg. What makes it eye catching?, What about it promotes curiosity?, How is it visually pleasing?, What makes it easy to understand?)

The qualities of my magazine that make it look effective are first of all how real it looks compared to a real seventeen magazine. In addition the colours really do stand out and make the whole magazine cover pop. I tried my best to make it look like a seventeen magazine to give it the illusion it’s an actually issue.

The order of hierarchy I was trying to achieve for the elements on my magazine cover was:

a) Title

{January 25, 2008}   class task 4

Understanding Resolution
1) Will a 300 dpi image or a 72 dpi image be clearer when printed out at the same size? How come?
The 300 dpi picture will come out clearer then the 72 dpi picture when you print the pictures out on the same size paper because the 300 dpi picture has more details to it which will give it a clearer look after printing it out where the 72 dpi picture is going to be less detailed making the picture look blurry after printing it.
2) What would a picture created at 1 dpi look like?
A picture created at 1 dpi will look very small and blurry causing you to not see or figure out what the picture exactly is.
